Call to baptism - ChristiansOnline.CC

I've never really thought or considered much about it but it seems lately that baptism is the direction I'm being taken. In my search for a church, I believe that with divine guidance, I have found it and with the same guidance, baptism seems to be the next part of my journey for a deeper relationship with Jesus. Since finding this new church, some pretty amazing things have happened, the biggest (to me anyway) is my brother being saved!! He and his wife have started joining me in going to church on Sundays!! That alone is awesome!! And to make it even better, after inviting them both to get baptised with me, they said yes!!! We will make it a family event on Aug. 28th.

Although my husband doesn't understand it, he has agreed to go to my baptism (getting him to go to church at all is a blessing!!) as well as extending the invitation to join us in our celebration to my mom (which is a struggle for my brother and I both!!). I would like to ask you all to join me in prayer for them both to be deeply touched by the Spirit, I have faith that this may be an awesome opportunity for them both!!

What an awesome God we have!!

Penny this is so awesome...you are being led by the Spirit and you are humbly submitting.
You are receiving so many blessings - as you are a tremendous blessing to your family and friends.
Im so happy that your Brother and Sister in-law has decided to be baptized as well - Praise God in the highest.
My family and I are joining with you in pray for your Mother and Husband as well. We are praying to God in belief and confidence that He is the rewarder of us that seek Him. Heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing unto him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that seek after him.
You set a fine example with your Mother, Penny, humbling yourself and seeking Gods glory and Will, ahead of your own.
You are such an encouragement and an inspiration to others on this forum who likewise have issues with parents - but you are right in humbling yourself and seeking Gods Will - giving her every opportunity so that she may be saved.
May you continue to be richly blessed as you walk with God, in Spirit and Truth.
Thanks so much for sharing this encouraging testimony and this part of your journey - your call to baptism.

Amen! What an awesome God we have!

I think is wonderful that you are taking this step Christie. I will keep your husband and mother in my prayers, and you and your brother and his wife also. May you all be blessed by this commitment to God.

I am amazed at what the Lord has done! You have been faithful and the Lord has blessed you.

Is your Mother coming to the Baptism, also? I guess they will sit together (your Mom and your husband)?

It's truly awesome. I stand in awe of the loving Lord we have.

Penny This is TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!! (pardon my expression....I'm not too hip on what the kids say these days.......am I showing my age??? LOL) anyway Congratulations on your first step! I'm being Baptised also on the 14th of this month!

Mat 3:16...."And Jesus, when He had been baptized, went up immediately out of the water. And lo, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting upon Him."

Mat 3:17...."And lo, a voice from Heaven, saying, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

Even Jesus himself placed importance on being Baptized...how much more so should we. Gods Spirit descended to Jesus and the Father showed His approval to Jesus.
How awesome it is to obediently follow in Jesus footsteps and be well pleasing to the Father.
